GoWithFlow Joins 80+ Companies in BCSD Portugal Pledge to Combat Climate Change
Towards COP26 Spotlights 11 Critical Areas of Policy Focus
MATOSINHOS, Portugal — July 27, 2021 — GoWithFlow, which provides technology solutions that support organizations as they transition fleets from gas- and diesel-powered vehicles to electric vehicles (EVs), has joined forces with BCSD Portugal and 81 other companies to endorse Towards COP26, an 11-point manifesto to accelerate decarbonization worldwide.
The Portuguese pledge supports global carbon neutrality by 2050, seeks fairness in credits and subsidies that level of the playing field between geographies, and vows to create sustainable finance initiatives directed at low-carbon solutions. BCSD Portugal, the country affiliate of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), led the charge as part of a collective effort in advance of the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26), slated for Oct. 31-Nov. 12 in Glasgow.
“From our participation in the global WBCSD sustainable mobility working groups to our allegiance to BCSD here in Portugal, GoWithFlow is committed to modernizing fleet transportation practices around the world,” said Jane Hoffer, CEO of GoWithFlow. “Only by working together to reduce carbon emissions can we effect lasting change on our planet.”
Using Flow’s Sustainable Mobility Management (SMM) platform, fleet managers can oversee and control all vehicles and fuel and energy consumption in one solution, coordinating the energy and charging infrastructure needed for EVs and hybrids with the data analytics to track and report carbon emissions and total cost of fleet ownership.
Companies that rely on the Flow SMM save an average of 225€ per year per vehicle in operational costs, reduce vehicle fuel costs by 40 percent or more when they switch to electricity vs. fossil fuels, and eliminate as much as 5,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions for every vehicle they transition to electric.
BCSD Portugal (Business Council for Sustainable Development) is a non-profit association that works with companies to develop and promote new, competitive, responsible, sustainable and inclusive business models. BCSD Portugal is embedded in the global network of the WBCSD, which is the biggest business organization working towards sustainable development on a global scale.
GoWithFlow and its Sustainable Mobility Management (SMM) platform help enterprises manage the transition of their fleet to low- or no-emission vehicles while reducing overall fleet and energy costs. Flow’s SMM provides an integrated view of vehicle and energy data, enabling fleet and facilities managers to plan and operate a network of combustion and electric vehicles along with managing fuel and electricity consumption. Named Portugal’s top cleantech startup in 2020, Flow’s majority shareholder is Galp, one of Europe’s energy companies leading the transition into renewable energy and sustainable fuels.
